Environmental portrait re-shoot
With these environmental portraits, I wanted to capture the personality of my subject while the environment lends to this personality. The first time I shot my environmental portraits, I focused too much on the setting and how that informs and kind of let the subject come second. I really like the first photo because I was secretly photographing my brother through a crack in the door and then he looked up and this is what came out of that. He's a really conscientious student and spends so much time studying and doing homework so I photographed his serious side of him amongst all his books and papers. The lighting also gives the photo a moody, late-night feeling, lazy feeling.
